Summer Recipes

I did not pay attention to how strong the vodka was when I was mixing these up the other night. I'm a beer drinker, through and through. Plus I hate math, and numbers in general. I saw "35" and didn't bother reading the rest of the bottle, and dumped it into my glass. Turns out it's 35% alcohol by volume aka 70 proof.

I mix the Crystal Light with water first, then add the vodka.

You don't drink alcohol? Go fly a kite.

Or just buy an Arnie Palmer.

Adapted from this recipe ...and by adapted, I mean, Sam bought Amaretto instead of Grenadine - not on purpose, but it turned out to be delicious anyway.

2 cups of Cabernet Sauvignon
15 fluid ounces of Apple Liqueur
6 fluid ounces of Amaretto
18 fluid ounces of cranberry juice
18 fluid ounces of pineapple juice
1/2 cup of Sprite or Sierra Mist
2 apples - sliced
2 oranges - sliced

Fluid ounces are dumb. They make my head hurt.

You should probably check out Joy's recipe. She's been working on it for years, like a mad scientist.

These cupcakes are tricky - like really tricky.  You have to open a box and mix its contents with water.

See? I don't blame you for not trying this one.

In all seriousness, I use boxed angel food cake mix. You really only have to mix it with water (but be sure to use a metal or glass bowl, no plastic). It makes a million and one cupcakes - and put the batter in the fridge if you have to wait in between batches.

And the frosting? Cool Whip.
