Blogtember: Honest to Blog

I have to admit that this is my favorite Blogtember topic. I've said it before - but I'll say it again - when I started this blog 2+ years ago, I never expected to make the friends I've made.

I'm not really sure what I was looking for ...but I found people who appreciate my brand of crazy, and my sense of humor. I can't ask for anything more than that.

A few months ago, I was seriously considering applying for jobs in different states. Actually, I'll be honest and say that I did apply to a position in New York City on a whim. As I was searching through different jobs (with same company I currently work for) I realized that I could apply to a job in Oregon, or Utah, or California, or Ohio, and I would have a friend close by.

How many people can say that?

And if we're being completely honest, I haven't ruled out moving. There isn't much holding me here, and if the right opportunity came along (or if I hunt it down and attack it) I would have a hard time turning it down. But that's a topic for another post.

Blogging has changed the way I make friends, and the way I stay in touch with people. I can't go grab a drink with Tiff or spend the day eating all the foods with Jes. So, yes, that means I'm on my phone more than I probably should be. I'm constantly checking my email or updating my Twitter feed throughout the day, but that's how I stay connected to you guys, so I don't mind.

I try to unplug, but quite frankly, sometimes the people I unplug around aren't all that fun, and I find myself reaching for my phone, even when I swore to myself that I wouldn't.

The craziest way blogging has changed my life will take place on October 28th, when I drive my ass to the airport to pick up Shay (and hopefully Whitney!). And it will happen again when Kelsey and I drive to Ohio to see Michelle in November.

How has blogging changed your life?
