The thunder of summer is rumbling in...

Thank you Baby Jesus.

I woke up yesterday morning around 9:15 and decided I wasn't getting out of bed all day. I had planned on going for a walk, or hike, or something to get out of the house, but it was cloudy and I knew the ground was wet from a storm that came through around 4am. I'm back in the nasty habit of waking up for extended periods of time in the middle of the night. I'm trying my best not to dabble in ZzzQuil.

I got out of bed briefly to grab a few essential items: my cell phone charger, my iPad charger, a mason jar full of Arnold Palmer, and an almost empty of Stacy's Pita Chips. I turned the TV only to discover that Veep and Silicon Valley were not new Sunday night (!!) but Mad Men was, so I watched that while I polished off the rest of the pita chips. If you watch the show, let's discuss how you think it's going to end (in 2015, the nerve). I have my theory, but I'd like to hear yours!

I considered taking a nap (because being awake for roughly an hour was exhausting) but ended up finishing The Fault in Our Stars instead. I read it for the first time last year, but wanted to reread it so I can be ready when the movie comes out in a couple of weeks. I was in tears for the last 40 or 50 pages of the book. It didn't help that I would stop reading, open YouTube, and watch the movie trailer. You know, just in case I wasn't crying enough while reading the book. I told Kelsey that we're going to see the movie together, but I honestly might need to go by myself. I won't be able to keep it together, and I don't need anyone I know seeing me like that. Especially someone who can't be trusted with Snapchat.

Speaking of Kelsey, without her help (and her forcing me to make decisions), I wouldn't have made any progress on my quote(ish) (but not really) wall. She spent Saturday helping me, and it is near completion. Just a few more added touches, that will probably take me another 3-4 months because I'm a monster. Then there will be pictures - promise!

I did end up getting out of bed yesterday (albeit briefly) to meet up with my friend Sam for drinks and a long-awaited life debriefing session. We ended the night with ice cream, since testing our limits with dairy is a shared interest.

How was your weekend?
