twenty sixteen

Winter finally showed up.

It seems silly now, but there was a moment last week when I truly believed I wouldn't see snow fall this year. I was in Philadelphia visiting my cousin and while it was raining there, it was snowing back home.

It was the second snowfall I missed -- the first being when I was in New York City for work back in October.

But as I drove to work Monday morning, I watched as snow fell silently to the ground and I thought, "Of course. Of course you were always on your way."

I turn 30 this year. And it seems as though these past few years have been leading up to something, but I can't quite figure out what it is. And sometimes it feels like I'm really close, but then I make the wrong move or say the wrong thing and I miss it. And I'm back to where I started.

But I know when it happens I'll think, "Of course you were always on your way."

Happy New Year, everyone. Cheers to making it a great one.
